KINDERGARDEN

Nursery Class:

The Nursery section caters for children between the ages of 3 and 4.
The teaching is Montessori-based and the children are able to develop Skills and abilities using a wide range of Montessori equipment and materials.
An introduction to reading and writing is carried out through the Letterland phonic system, which is continued in Reception class.
There are regular music and movement sessions, lots of story telling, acting-out and art activities, while regular swimming, outdoor play and games are also enjoyed.

Reception:

Children between 4 and 5 years of age enter the Reception Class whose programmes are based on the British International Curriculum.
Our children are engaged in a hands-on reading and writing programme in addition to maths and science.
Specialist teachers introduce “First Steps in Italian” and Computer skills while Physical Education / Swimming, Music & Movement sessions continue.

PRIMARY

Grades 1 to 6 comprise the Primary section in the school.
The British Curriculum forms the core programmes.
The subjects are: Language Arts, English, Maths, Science, History and Geography, Art, Design & Technology, Italian, Music and Movement, Information Technology, Physical Education and Swimming.
In addition to the more formal sessions, an integrated approach across the curriculum is widely used and children are encouraged to research, analyse, report, discuss and debate through cross-curricular project work.

JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

The 3-year programme of studies is based on the British Curriculum with International content in subjects like History and Geography.
Students study a broad range of subjects: English Language & Literature, Maths, Sciences, World History, Geography, Italian, French, Art, Design & Technology, I.C.T., Drama, Music, Physical Education/Swimming, P.S.H.E. All subjects are compulsory, allowing the students an informed choice when continuing their Upper High school studies.
We are Licensed Operator’s of the International Youth Award Programme and our students are encouraged to complete the Bronze Award in their Grade 9 year.
